Last month I had the privilege of meeting 6-year-old Lulu, big brother Archie, mum Clare and dog Daisy for some family pictures.
Having heard about Lulu’s appeal through social media I was more than willing to give up my time for this lovely family and capture some special moments for them. Dad Rob, was not present on the day as he was out training, preparing to do an incredible 12 marathon walks in 12 days in order to raise much needed funds for Lulu’s appeal.
6 year old Lulu was diagnosed with high-risk Neuroblastoma in January 2018, just after starting school. Her family have launched an appeal to raise £162,000 by June this year in the hope of sending her to New York for treatment, a clinical trial which is showing promise in reducing relapse rates. Almost 50% of children with high risk neuroblastoma will relapse, and once they do, their survival rate drops to less than one in ten. This treatment in New York will potentially save Lulu’s life.
